About this work
A hawk with mottled grey and brown plumage and a yellow eye perches on a gnarled, leafless branch, its talons gripping the wood. Fine ink lines and soft tonal color define the feathers and twigs against a pale ground. This page, numbered 16, is from Imao Keinen's Keinen kachō gafu, printed in 1891.
