About this work
A Japanese woodblock print shows a bunting bird with a rust-red throat and streaked brown plumage perched among twining vines with heart-shaped green leaves and dark blue morning glory blossoms. Dry grasses and stems fill the lower foreground while the upper right stays open pale paper. The print is titled Keinen kachō gafu Pl.019, made by Imao Keinen in 1891.
