About this work
A caricature drawing by Ralph Barton, dated 1923, shows a exaggerated seated man with a large head, prominent teeth and a sharp profile, wearing a white undershirt and draped in a dark cloak. A framed picture of a cupid with a bow hangs on the wall behind him, and a handwritten inscription in the lower right corner gives the sitter's name and dedicatory remarks.
