About this work
A hand-colored plate arranging several ornate hunting knives in a row, with gilded, enameled sheaths decorated with pink floral motifs and jeweled accents, alongside plainer knives with ivory handles and a dark leather sheath. Two small detached fittings appear at the lower corners. The Cyrillic caption identifies the objects as Tsarist hunting knives, and the plate is attributed to Fedor Grigoryevich Solntsev, dated 1849 to 1853.
