About this work
This chromolithographic plate presents several views of the sceptre of the great regalia, shown in full length alongside its detached ornamental components. The gilded elements are richly decorated with coloured enamel, cabochon gemstones, and pearls, and the top of the sceptre is crowned with a double-headed eagle. A grey outline drawing at left shows the ornamental pattern in profile, and the plate is titled in Cyrillic beneath the figures.
