About this work
This plate presents a series of helmets arranged in rows, showing conical and rounded forms in metal and chain mail, with views from several angles. The lower row shows gilded helmets decorated with a double-headed eagle and radiating panels, while the upper and middle rows show riveted steel and mail-skirted examples. The printed Cyrillic caption identifies the subject as a Mongol helmet.
