About this work
A color lithograph shows a bronze canopy or shrine with a pointed roof, arched crest, and openwork patterned doors, shown with separate engraved ornament studies and a Cyrillic inscription beneath. The work is attributed to Fedor Grigoryevich Solntsev and dated 1849 to 1853, and its title refers to a bronze shater commissioned by Patriarch Filaret in 1625 to hold the Robe of the Lord in the Moscow Dormition Cathedral.
