About this work
This lithographic plate shows a set of decorative fittings and panels from the chairs of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich, arranged across the page with gilded surfaces, blue enamel, and inset gems. A pink panel carries a Latin inscription, and a gilded double-headed eagle appears at the lower right, with a Cyrillic caption beneath.
