About this work
A chromolithographed plate shows an embroidered ecclesiastical vestment in purple and gold with a central enthroned Christ and scrolling gold ornament. Surrounding roundels and arched panels depict haloed saints and an angel holding a book or sphere. The Cyrillic caption at the bottom identifies the subject as ancient embroideries of the barmy.
