About this work
A hand-colored print shows four standing figures in long, richly patterned robes, including a figure in a tall ornamented headdress holding a staff. Below, two robes are shown flat with close-up views of their damask-like patterns and trim. The Cyrillic caption identifies the costume as the home dress of Patriarch Nikon, and the work is attributed to Fedor Grigoryevich Solntsev, dated 1849 to 1853.
