About this work
A color lithograph plate from the 1849 to 1853 period by Fedor Grigoryevich Solntsev shows a barrel of eastern crystal set in a silver mount, with gilded straps, winged sphinx supports, and a figure holding a cup at the top. Two lower views display the mount's relief scenes of classical figures and architectural settings, with a Cyrillic caption beneath.
