About this work
This print by Fedor Grigoryevich Solntsev, dated 1849-1853, shows six painted wooden figures of bearded men with raised arms, arranged in two rows against a pale ground. The figures wear long robes and belted garments in red, green, ochre and grey tones, and the Russian caption identifies the subject as the Chaldean furnace.
