About this work
A hand-colored lithographic plate shows the back of a round, twelve-sided gilded mirror studded with red and green gems, with a central rosette and eight lobed silver-toned medallions. Below it is the mirror's matching handle, decorated with openwork metal patterns and jeweled bands. The plate is attributed to Fedor Grigoryevich Solntsev and dated 1849-1853.
