About this work
A hand-colored print shows three women in summer costume from the city of Torzhok, each wearing a tall headdress draped with a sheer embroidered veil. The figures wear richly patterned dresses in yellow, green and crimson, set within an ornate multicolored decorative frame with a Cyrillic caption. The work is attributed to Fedor Grigoryevich Solntsev and dated 1849-1853.
