About this work
A colour lithograph shows the silver throne in side profile and in cross section, with its gilded, openwork decoration and twisted columns. Griffin finials and a double-headed eagle appear among the foliate ornament, and the right half is shown as a cut-away with a stepped base. The plate is titled in Russian and is attributed to Fedor Grigoryevich Solntsev, dated 1849-1853.
