About this work
A chromolithographic plate shows pectoral crosses kept in the Sofiiskii Cathedral in Novgorod, each drawn from front, side and back views. The gold crosses are set with red and blue gemstones and carry engraved Cyrillic inscriptions and small figures, presented as actual-size studies. The work is by Fedor Grigoryevich Solntsev and dates from 1849 to 1853.
