About this work
A chromolithographic reproduction of a Russian icon shows two haloed saints facing each other beneath a medallion of Christ, set within an embossed gold ornamental frame. The figure on the left wears a checkered vestment and a cross-marked mantle, while the figure on the right is nearly nude with long hair and a beard. Made by Fedor Grigoryevich Solntsev, dated 1849-1853.
