About this work
A black-and-white woodcut titled Turoń by Edmund Bartłomiejczyk, dated 1938. It shows a crowded interior in which a large shaggy animal with curved horns dominates the foreground while figures in period clothing gather around it, including a man holding a tray of glasses and a woman with a headscarf. The dense white hatching and strong contrast give the scene a dramatic, folkloric character.
