About this work
This hand-colored drawing shows a mosque courtyard with a row of domed roofs, an arcaded portico with Arabic inscriptions, and a tall minaret rising on the right. A small domed fountain stands in the checkered-tiled courtyard, with figures in traditional robes and turbans walking and praying nearby. The work is attributed to François-Marie Rosset and dated 1790.
