About this work
A dark lithograph depicts two figures close together in a dim interior, with heavy drapery framing the scene and a crescent moon glowing through an opening at the upper center. Rough, textured marks build the shadows and the bed-like form in the foreground. The work is titled Love Scene and was made by Max Beckmann in 1909.
