About this work
An engraved interior scene shows a richly furnished bedroom with a large draped bed curtain, a carpet with floral scrollwork, and a medallion portrait on the wall. A kneeling man in period dress reaches toward a woman seated near the bed, while a group of standing figures in elegant 18th-century costume watch nearby. The print is titled Le Séducteur (After N. Lavreince) and is attributed to Albert Christophle.
