About this work
An engraved interior shows a woman in a white gown and bonnet embracing a man in a dark coat inside a richly furnished bedroom with a canopy bed and draped curtains. A striped armchair, a wall mirror, and a decorative urn appear at left, and a scatter of objects lies on the floor. The print is titled Le Repentir Tardif (G. R. Levillain) and is attributed to Albert Christophle.
