About this work
A hand-colored print titled Annette et Lubin, after P. J. L. Debucourt and attributed to Albert Christophle, shows a pastoral scene with a young woman in a light gown and white headscarf beside a young man in a lavender shirt. Two men in powdered wigs, one in a dark coat and one in a black robe, stand at the right among flowering shrubs, while a lamb rests at the lower left. The print is dated 1789 in pencil at the lower left of the image.
