About this work
This chromolithographic print, titled View of Nature in Ascending Regions, shows a panoramic arrangement of snow-capped peaks and erupting volcanoes stacked from lowland farmland up to glaciated summits, with labels for regions such as the Andes, Alps, Himalayas and Mount Etna. It was produced by Levi Walter Yaggy in 1893 as a print, and its elevation scale runs along the margins to compare the heights of the depicted regions.
