About this work
A standing woman in an elaborate kimono with floral embroidery holds a lacquered box while looking downward, her hair fastened with ornate gold pins. Behind her a pine tree and blossoming branches appear beside a hanging scroll, and loose white sheets lie scattered at her feet. The work is a 1904 print by Gray Litho. Co, titled Japanese queen.
