About this work
A hand-colored print titled Holbergske Scener og Figurer, attributed to Emil Bærentzen and dated 1863, arranged as a grid of costumed figures, two comic theatre masks, and three street and interior scenes. The period costumes of wigs, frock coats, and tricorn hats are rendered in soft pastel washes, with a central scene of a cellist and companions outside a timber-framed doorway.
