About this work
A chromolithographic print titled Dash around the Lightship by Julian Oliver Davidson, dated 1887, shows a racing yacht heeling sharply over choppy green water. Crew in dark jackets and red-banded caps grip the rail and work the deck and rigging while a second sailing vessel with billowing cream sails follows close behind under a dark, clouded sky.
