About this work
A decorative engraved group portrait arranges oval likenesses of Methodist clergymen within ivy-wreathed frames across the composition. Vignettes at the top show an outdoor preaching scene and a burning building, while the center depicts a pioneer preacher on horseback beside a log cabin, and the lower corners show a village street and a Gothic church.
