About this work
A colorful print of a large industrial workshop shows several workers in grey work clothes assembling and machining massive metal components, including a heavy cylinder suspended from an overhead crane and a lathe in operation. The vast hall, with its steel framework and glass roof, conveys the scale of heavy machine building. This work by Josef Danilowatz, dated 1923, is held in the Portland Art Museum collection.
