A woman in an elaborate yellow gown with a wide hat leans on a window ledge holding a red book, while outside a street scene and a tree-lined park are visible. The hand-colored engraving is titled May from The Twelve Months and was made by Robert Dighton, published by Carington Bowles in St. Paul's Churchyard, London.
