About this work
A pen and ink drawing shows a woman and a man in a dimly lit room gazing toward a Christmas tree set on a stand, with paper lanterns hanging overhead and a chair beside the tree. A printed notice hangs on the tree, and the caption along the bottom reads Ze Schreeuwden Het Uit van Verwondering. The work is dated 1909 and attributed to G. van Doorn.
