About this work
A woodblock-style print shows a bird with outstretched wings and a raised tail rising above water, beside reeds and dark flowering plants with broad leaves. Fine horizontal lines suggest the water surface, and Japanese characters appear in the upper right corner along with a page number in the lower margin. This page is from Kōno Bairei's Bairei hyakuchō gafu, dated 1881.
