About this work
A chromolithographic print shows a Viking-style longship under a red and white striped sail, with a carved golden prow and round shields lining the hull. Armored warriors stand and sit on deck while the vessel moves across rippling water toward a forested shore. The work is attributed to Andreas Bloch and carries the imprint of Eneret H. Abel, Christiania.
