About this work
This pen-and-ink print presents a series of decorative headings for the acts of Shakespeare's Henry IV, part 1, with ornamental scrolls, heraldic shields, and small vignettes of tents, banners, and a crowned lion. The top heading reads "King Henry the Fourth" with "Act I, Sc. I" and the sequence continues through Acts II to V and closes with "the end."
