About this work

This engraved satirical print shows a heraldic design with a central shield framed by two figures holding shields, one a bearded man and the other a horned creature. Scenes of figures and motifs fill the central panels, and ribbon banners carry the text "My fancys so free" and "I rove like a bee." The print is dated 1821 and is attributed to Theodore Lane.
