About this work

A colored lithograph shows the interior of Independence Hall in Philadelphia, with visitors in mid-nineteenth-century dress viewing a white marble statue, large framed history paintings, and rows of oval portrait medallions along the walls. A replica or model of the Liberty Bell stands at the right beside a display of carved relief panels. The print was made by Max Rosenthal and dated 1856.
