About this work
A hand-coloured engraving titled Loading tea-junks at Tseen-tang, drawn by T. Allom and engraved by James Tingle, dated 1840. It shows workers carrying and stacking chests on a waterfront while ox carts haul cargo and junk boats with high sterns are moored nearby. A walled town with white buildings, a pagoda on a hill, and mountains fill the background.
