Why is this public domain? Giulio Romano died in 1546; this work is in the public domain.
About this work
An engraved composition shows a turbaned man standing atop a stone pedestal, draped with live snakes, while a crowd of robed figures gathers around him and a bearded man leans in to offer a bowl. The fine parallel hatching models the drapery and tiled pavement, and the scene is set in a shallow architectural space. This print is catalogued as The Charlatan, attributed to Giulio Romano, with no date given.
