About this work

A lithographic print shows the schooner yacht Cambria under full sail on choppy water, with a steamship and another sailing vessel on the horizon. The printed caption records the yacht as the winner of the ocean race against the American yacht Dauntless, sailed from Queenstown, Ireland, to the Light Ship at Sandy Hook in July 1870. The print is credited to Currier & Ives and dated 1870.
