About this work
A chromolithographic print titled Night scene at a junction, issued by Currier & Ives in 1885, shows a busy railway yard after dark. Several steam locomotives with glowing headlamps haul lit passenger cars along crossing tracks, while workers with lanterns move among them and a city skyline and river traffic appear in the distance.
