About this work
A tiger labeled Tammany stalks over a prostrate female figure in an arena while officials watch from a balcony above. Scattered bodies, a broken ballot and a sword lie on the sands, and a large crowd fills the tiers behind. Thomas Nast drew this print in 1871.
