About this work

This engraved print shows the Crucifixion at center, with Christ flanked by two thieves, mourning women below, and mounted soldiers and onlookers in a landscape with a distant town. Ornate architectural framing includes oval niches with standing female figures, cherubs at the top, a skull and crossbones, and dense inscriptions in Latin and German.
