About this work

This etching shows an allegorical gathering in a wooded landscape, with numerous figures drawing and studying around a central standing man in a flowing robe. Winged cherubs hover among palm fronds above, while a woman holding a long trumpet sits at right and reclining figures occupy the foreground. The print is catalogued as an Italian 17th century work after Pietro Testa, dated 1637/1638.
