About this work

A grey wash drawing with white heightening on blue-grey paper shows two kneeling figures in classical drapery. An elderly bearded man points off to the left with an outstretched arm while holding a ewer, and a young woman beside him holds a woven basket of flowers and looks upward. The work is a drawing attributed to an anonymous Roman artist, dated 1700.
