About this work

A pen and brown ink drawing with brown wash shows an elaborately sculpted architectural frame, with a seated putto perched atop a large scrolling volute. A potted urn with foliage stands on a ledge at left, while the lower section displays a panelled pedestal and swirling ornamental motifs. The work is attributed to an anonymous Genoese artist of the 17th century and dated 1600.
