This painting shows a formal interior with officers and grenadiers in dark green and red uniforms and tall black bearskin caps, standing in a gallery lined with framed portraits on red walls. A large portrait of a uniformed man hangs on the central wall, and the polished marble floor and carved white columns frame the scene. The work is titled View of the War Gallery of 1812 in the Winter Palace (Company of Court Grenadiers), by Karl Piratsky, dated 1861, and held by the Hermitage Museum.
