A painted interior shows a standing gentleman in a dark velvet cloak and white ruff collar facing a seated lady in a pale silk gown who holds a pink rose to her face. The room has carved wooden paneling, a marble-style fireplace, and a checkered stone floor. Corneille Seghers painted this work in 1857, and it is held by the Hermitage Museum.
