A wide landscape shows a richly decorated gilded carriage drawn by white horses, escorted by mounted riders and richly dressed attendants on a dirt road. Dark trees frame the scene on the right while a distant hill and a large body of troops fill the background. Adam Frans van der Meulen painted this work in 1664, and it is held by the Hermitage Museum.
