About this work
A crowded biblical scene shows people gathering and carrying goods in the foreground, with a woman in a yellow robe at the center and a child reaching toward her. Camels, donkeys and a falcon populate the composition, while a group of robed figures stands on a distant hill beside a fortified city. The painting is attributed to Simon de Vos and dated 1641, held by the Hermitage Museum.
