This genre painting shows a courtyard enclosed by a large brick wall and weathered wooden fences, where a bearded man in a white smock draws water from a well and another worker in a blue jacket and white apron sweeps the ground. A wooden cart loaded with planks stands in the foreground beside buckets and a broom. The work is attributed to Akim Bagayev (Bagoyev) and dated 1843, and is held by the Hermitage Museum.
